Features and Functionality

RoboCard Application Module

• Cards can be positioned on the carrier at a speed of up to 8000 cards per hour
  Optional pick and place Robot for cards at a speed of up to 12000 cards per hour
• Card positioning with an accuracy of ±0.5mm at any angle from 0° to 360°
• Versatile card attachment
• The integrated vision system makes it easy to program and set up
• Cards can be attached to the carrier with glue or double sided adhesive

Automatic Suction Card Feeders

•  Enables continuous loading A to Z or Z to A
• Capacity for large stacks of cards
• Optional autoloader for higher capacity loading
• Stack level monitoring
• Double-feed detection with any kind of plastic card
• Handles transparent and embossed cards
• Installation of up to 8 feeders
• Card feeders can operate alternately in flip flop mode

Versatility of Card Formats / Performance

• Several card formats can be processed, not just ISO 7810
• Range of thicknesses from 0.30 to 1.20 mm
• Irregular shaped cards can be handled
• 8000 cards placed per hour with the DENSO Robot
• 12000 card placements per hour with the ADEPT Robot

Card Readers

• The system can include various types of card ID readers - magnetic strips, microchips (contact or contact-less), Barcode, Datamatrix, OCR
• Card reader functionality "AND" - "OR"
• Several readers can be employed simultaneously
• Option for Datbase controlled processing
• High quality and reliable reading

Versatility of Card Formats

• Various paper carrier inputs either from cut sheet, fanfold or roll
• Different paper formats can be processed - A3, A4, A5 and A6
• All input modules are manufactured by Kern AG

Additional Modules and Processing Options

• Job creation software included
• The Kern 90 is designed to interface with Kern inserting Systems
• Option to run application without an inserting process
• Database driven inserting and integrity control available as security enhancing options
• Finished mail pieces can be sorted in accordance with a variety of criteria
