Mobile Feeders for the Kern 40 Mail Wrapping System

Ingenious Feeder Solutions - the Kern 40 Mail Wrapping System can now be equipped with mobile feeders. These can quickly and easily be connected with or removed from the transport chain - or rearranged in a different sequence.

Each feeder is mounted on a mobile feeder support. The same type of mobile feeder support is used for all types of feeders. This device incorporates a mechanical coupling that enables rapid and simple engagement with the drive shaft of the wrapping machine. A reconfiguration involving all types of feeders can be accomplished within a matter of minutes.

Mobile feeders can dispense their products in line with or from the side of the transport chain.

Types of Mobile Feeders

The Kern 40 Mail Wrapping System has a wide range of mobile feeders for different applications. Shuttle, rotary and friction feeders are available in various versions - such as one- or two-up feeders, and in-line or side feeders. This product range is complemented by the rotary gadget feeder and the automatic folding module for newspapers.

Rotary Single Sheet Feeder

The rotary single sheet feeder is an automatic feeder for products with a maximum size of A4 portrait or A3 landscape. Different versions are available for one- or two-up flow; they can be equipped with one or two sets of mechanical grippers. Option: Automatic double-sheet detector.

Shuttle Feeder

The shuttle feeder is an automatic feeder for magazines, paperbacks, books, etc. It is able to process products ranging from 3 to 30 mm in thickness, and is positioned in line with the mechanical axis of the system.

Friction Feeder
The friction feeder is a high-speed automatic feeder for products like cards, coupons and nonflexible materials. It is able to process inserts with a thickness of 0.3 to 3.0 mm. Option: Automatic double-sheet detector.
