Large Envelope Handling
The K4000 Inserting System enables the simple, rapid and accurate processing of flats mailings.  As least 20 pages can be pre-grouped by the direct-entry grouping module, and 80 or more pages can be inserted into a single C4 envelope. Collated documents are then transported along the chain to the inserter. 

Advanced Design for Flexibility and Accuracy
There are several advantages to the design of the K4000 inserting system. Because of the system’s well-conceived modular design, your printed output can be fed sheet by sheet or as continuous forms via several input channels, then conveyed for further handling through any number of additional components such as collating, converging, turning and inserting stations. The system also allows the processing of documents printed on two tracks. The document turner ensures that the recipients address is always positioned correctly in the envelope window.

Customisable For Your Needs
Like all Kern inserting systems, mailers are able to customize the K4000 to meet their specific needs. The number of enclosure stations depends on your needs and the K4000’s modular construction leaves room to expand with you. The inclusion of a folding module enables letter sized documents to be folded when using smaller envelopes. The compact folding unit can be adjusted for a wide variety of folds. At the inserting module, enclosures– which can vary considerably in size, paper quality and thickness– are added to the documents arriving from the input modules. Optical codes on the main documents tell which documents are to receive which enclosures.
